I went home over break and took the game down. When I returned, the new year had come and the game looked at the last time players had updated as having occured in December and now it was January... Ignoring the year, the game saw that as negative time flow and so the couple of weeks worth of update time periods were scrapped and it was just as if time had actually stopped.
