It is a ~ 14 MHz 68000 along with a 16K cache which is available via mailorder for less then $250. I have an A1000 and am interested in purchasing this thing. I realize this product will be nowhere near as good as an 020/030 accelerator with 32 bit RAM. But the price is right, assuming the speed-up is at all noticeable. I'd be interested in objective/subjective opinions regarding ease of installation (especially for A1000), speed-up attained, quality of documentation, quality of support, product quality, etc... The ads boast "solderless installation" -- it looks like you just pop out the 68000, plug it into the little circuit board, and shove it into the 68000 socket. Is this true?
