Though not (yet) an expert, I dare to answer. Rexx (and its Amiga implementation ARexx) is at first sight a normal, interpreted programming language with all the features a language needs. But it provides some special features that enable it to serve as a scripting and control language, too. It can control other applications the same way a user would do, and it can receive inputs from applications that it again can interpret to give other apps the real kick. So this language is going to become the magic glue that allows multitasking to further enhance its benefits. As far as I know, Rexx comes from the IBM mainframe scene and is well known and used there. I find it really nice that the Amiga this way is on one level with the BIG ones! -- Best regards, Dr. Peter Kittel // E-Mail to \\ Only my personal opinions...
