I have to put up with ISPF, EDNA, and Edlin. I don't need the hassle of 'compatibility' to bog me down on my home machine. I agree with that. My "home" machine (the one I spend the most time working on) is a DS3100. No cygnus ed here. Lot's of versions of emacs. Rather than have to relearn the keystroke sequences (or rebind the things to match what I want), I run an editor with the right set of keystrokes. That way, I can use muscle memory on both systems, and don't have to get bogged down thinking about which editor I'm using. The included demo will knock your socks off. Actually, that sounds like a real waste of time. If I'm running an ARexx macro, I don't want the editor taking time to redraw the window - I want it running my macro! Ideally, it supports both modes, so you can build demos and such in the editor, but don't have to watch it walk through a couple of thousand lines of text checking for spelling errors (you do use an Arexx-driven spelling checker, don't you?).
