Message-ID: <4161@syma.sussex.ac.uk> Date: 11 Jan 91 09:16:59 GMT Organization: University of Sussex Lines: 35 here is a posting for a friend:- -------------------------------------------------------------------- TITLE: SupraRAM problem Hayalp any or all you big noises out there :-) I have just fitted the Supraram 8up board in my clunky old A2000, which also has a clunky old 2090 card (see resume). The board has 8mb of ram, and passes all its test just fine. BUT I can't get my hard disks to mount without disabling all my fast ram first. Then, when I do get the winnies up and away, they just write crap instead of files during operations such as disk copy. (They read ok). All this until I kill the extra memory... WTF is wrong here... I have tried both the ram card and the 2090 in different slots, to no avail.... Also, I've found a chip which came with the 2090, along with instrucvtions which tell me to put the chip into socket U5, sadly socket U5 is a 14 pin socket and the chip is 24 pin... Anyone else done this mod on a 2090 ? +-----------------------------------------------------+ <------| Tim Nixon-Smith [ timnix@cix.compulink.co.ukc ] |------> +-----------------------------------------------------+ --------------------------------------------------------------------- -- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Neale Type , Computing Service /// | "May the Balrog find you tasty."
