I applied this patch yesterday and went to try it out (it's on my hard drive). It got to the point right before it asks for the original disk when the system hung. I tried booting off the original floppy, and that would not work either! BTW, the patch was only applied to the HD copy of the game. I finally isolated the problem: it turns out Xenocide is somehow incompatible with the RAMFast in slot 7. Has anyone else had this problem? I used to have a non-DMA SCSI card and Xenocide ran perfectly from the HD. The only other thing I added since then is a Chinook 4-meg memory card (but that's not the cause of the problem).
