If Digital sold you this solution, then you need to contact your salesperson... As you've seen, there's a clash of interrupt vectors between the async. driver and the video driver. If you don't load the async. driver, it shouldn't crash. However, you will then find the other reason why it's not supported, as you will get glitches on the screen when the sync. port is active.
