Lines: 28 I'm having a few problems with my Gateway and I'm wondering if anyone else out there might be experiencing them. 1) Every once and a while the WD Caviar 80 IDE Hard Drive sounds like it's spinning down. As soon as it stops, it spins back up again. It appears that if I'm waiting for disk data, it waits till it's spun back up again. Maybe its the drive but I'd like to know if anyone else has had this problem. 2) This is a problem with the 800x600 svga drivers. I've had problems with this resolution with Windows 3.0, Vuimg (shareware gif viewer), and Fractint (shareware fractal generator). With Windows, when the machine is cold (i.e. hasn't been on for a while) this resolution causes Windows to lose vertical sync until it warms up. With the other two packages, when operating in this mode, I get diagonal lines in the bottom portion of the screen. Any clues? I've got the Gateway "Crystal Scan" monitor. I've had these problems with both the ATI Wonder card with 512k and the newly supplied Diamond SpeedStar card with 512k. Is my monitor good?
