Baker) Organization: University of New Hampshire Lines: 30 I recently got my '030 cube and am in the process of upgrading it. I currently have 8 1mb simms installed and I am debating the pros and cons of getting an additional 8 1mb simms for a total of 16mb or 4 4mb simms for a total of 24mb. The extra cash saved on 8 1mb (4*~190=750 - 8*~40=320 == $430) would go towards a 9600 baud modem to greatly enhance uucp connectivity, currently 2400 baud. The 9600 baud modem would also be great for SLIP or PPP. Is there a significant improvement from 16mb to 24mb? Any recommendations of vendors? (By the way, there is a pretty good intro article on SLIP and PPP on page 33 in the 7 January Unix Today.) Thanks in advance. tjb -- ____________________________________________________________________________ | Thomas J.
