Jan Sanislo (oystr@maui.cs.washington.edu), who was also having trouble with a different LoginHook, pointed this out to me as well. The problem seems to be that on subsequent uses (after the first) the LoginHook (MOTD in this case) can't make a connection to the window server: Jan 14 08:16:09 ssrg-next-1 MOTD[2541]: DPS client library error: Could not form connection, host local host I hope to have time to try to track this down soon (I'm busy installing a bunch of NeXTstations) but if anyone has any suggestions of how to fix the problem, please let me know and I'll get a working version of 2.0 MOTD out to the archive servers ASAP. - Christopher -------
