To fix it we would have to enter 'set display' at the prom monitor and hit the reset. I tried this on our PI and it does not work. Try 'setenv console G' at the prom monitor. Our problem was that the prom environment variables that are stored in non-volatile RAM would get screwed up. Hope this helps.
