I recall a published report a while ago which mentioned that Rod C.,
head honcho of Compaq, considered approaching Tandy with a merger offer.

I do know that the idea never got very far, but our (Tandy) stock did
go up in price and there were rumors of a merger (with somebody, but it
was never disclosed with whom).
