Thank you to all who replied (or are going to reply)  to my posting on
getting postscript inclusion to  work. The response was unanimous: use
dvips (version 5.41) from labrea. Some one said in  his/her memo to me
that  psfig-dvips-combo won't work  for Mac  Postscript. But  there is
sample file with   psfig  source that  illustrates  inclusion  of  Mac
Postscript, and  that  seems to work!  I   am  glad  that  things  are
returning to normal in my  life now that the  curse of TeX is removed.
