The dues/subscription rate for TUG/TUGboat are $45 (less for students). While this might seem a bit high compared to something like Byte, remember the volume and advertising both have a significant effect on cost (Byte seems to be about half adds to me). Also, I just sent in a check for over $100 to the IEEE, so $45 isn't so bad...
