I used Silverlining by LaCie (now a subsidiary of Quantum)
to format my Q210 from APS (new low-level format followed by
partitioning).

CAUTION CAUTION CAUTION

There exists a known bug (by LaCie -- but "our programmer is
overworked and it is not a big problem if you do backups before
using our program") where Silverlining will trash utterly the
partition map when moving and resizing volumes (which is a documented
"feature" in the manual).

Workaround:  Don't move or resize volumes after partitioning!!!!
