I'm encountering "memory fault - core dumped" type messages when
I try to compile two fairly big C programs in A/UX using the cc compiler.
When it gets to the /bin/as stage of the compilation, halfway through
I get the bomb.

Sometimes the message says:

    cc: "/bin/as": fatal error; terminated by signal 11; core dumped

Now, what could be causing this?  Not enough RAM?  A bug in A/UX's
C compiler or assembler?  Anyone else ever encounter these kinds
of problems?  By the way, this is on a Mac IIci with external 160SC
hard disk.
