Lines: 42 Hi ISC-X11 users, obviously several (a lot) of people would like to use Thomas Roell's X11R4 server on a VGA board with a PVGA1A chip set (like the Paradise Professional for example). As Thomas mentioned he doesn't have access to such a board, so he can not really test his code. Up to now all his attempts to fix the server failed (I just tried the last beta test version). I proposed to Thomas to ask the net-land, if some people would be willing to contribute some money, so he could buy a such a board. He said, that with that "it shouldn't be a problem any more". As I am living in the US right now, but still have a bank account in Germany, I could collect money here and transfer it to Thomas easily. So, how does that sound to you? Are you willing to trust me and send me some checks? I just looked into a catalog, the VGA Professional from Paradise lists for $304. I guess in Germany it should be available for about 500 DM??? So, 20 people each contributing $20 or so would do it. Or, what about a dealer or UNIX vendor sending a board to Thomas? Send me a mail, if and how much you would like to contribute. I think, a working X11R4 server would be worth 20 bucks, wouldn't it? Fritz P.S.: I'll be gone for a week until January, 15. I'll post, what response I got up to then.
