At some point during the test (I think when the floppy file system ran out of inodes) the system panicked. This is the only time I've ever seen my system panic. I haven't tried running it again. I never saw the missing inode problem occur under B or C news, and since the ESIX FFS is based on the BSD file system rather than System V, I doubt that it has the missing inode bug. I sent email to Jeff Ellis at ESIX about the problem in July, but never heard back from him. Another note: the ESIX S51K (standard System V) file system does have the missing inode bug. -- John W.
