I've encountered the problem of the FAS driver working on the Unix side, but
going into VP/ix makes the VP/ix session lock up.  Any ideas?

I have tried everything in fas.h short of...

Any help would be appreciated.

The hardware configuration is an AST FourPort card (Async Cluster Adaptor) and
an AT I/O card.  Both have NS16450 UART chips.  FAS reports that all of the
ports are initialized and working.
