Message-ID: <309@edison.UUCP> Date: 14 Jan 91 22:23:32 GMT Reply-To: larry@edison.UUCP () Organization: SEI Information Technology, Los Angeles, CA Lines: 21 Hi! This is my first time to post news to the net, please excuse my ignorance. I am currently working on a client site which they have a problem with a DAT (Digital Audio Tape). Someone dumped data onto the DAT and rewinded the tape then accidentally issued a 'dd' command. As a result, the tape now has a End-of-Tape marker at the beginning of the tape. We want to be able to read by-pass the End-of-Tape marker and extract the data out from the tape. We are using DEC Ultrix 3.1, the tape drive that we use is a Giga Trend model 1235 4mm/DAT drive. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Larry Lee, SEI Information Technology, Los Angeles * * ...sun.com!suntzu!seila!edison!larry * * ...uunet!mahendo.jpl.nasa.gov!seila!edison!larry * * 5455 Wilshire Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90036-4244 * * Phone : (213) 945-9276, (213) 938-2301 Fax : (213) 938-1949 * * standard disclaimer applies. * ----------------------------------------------------------------------
