On December 13th, the FCC adopted the procedure to allow severely handicapped persons to get a waver from their doctor that exempts them from taking the 13 and or 20 word per minute code test. I feel we are doing the wrong thing by making it easier for a handicapped person to get a ham radio license. We would not want to go to a blind lawyer who had to only take half of the courses because he was blind? Not me. I say the commission blew it on this one for sure. It's not that difficult to copy 20 WPM. My Perkins was not smoking, but close.
