SoftServ works like this: 1> You get a book on diskette or download it from their BBS. No it's not a free call unfortunately. It's in Long Beach, CA. 2> You will, if a member, get a password to unlock the book you get. This book comes in a ZIP archive, and you first run an unlock program so you can then unzip the archive. 3> At this point you've just got flat files. You'll have to read them the same way you'd read the CBFB stuff (Computerized Books for the Blind). Their membership fee is about $20 but if you're blind you don't have to pay it. Also, their BBS uses one of those high-speed 19.2KB modems if you can make use of that. Here's the address: SoftServ Publishing INC.
