Yup, including all UNIX System V's, since it has been in the SVID since issue 1, vol. 1, and it's part of the Base OS. However, very few sys-admins have been dumb enough to leave ULIMIT(1) at anything so low as the 2048 blocks some vendors ship the OS with. My personal choice is always set it a some near-infinite number, such as 1024*1024. -- Greg A.
