This sounds a bit fishy... What sounds _fishy_? But then all plane crashes seem mysterious to those of us who only go along for the one-way ride. Sounds like a classic stall-spin to me. The trees either made it survivable or caused it in the first place (depending on how far along the recovery from the stall was).
