I have added GNU readline support into the 4.3BSD-Reno ftp and have working versions on a Vaxstation 3200/Ultrix, a DEC 5810/Ultrix, a Convex C-220/Convex Unix, and yes, even my Cray Y-MP8/864 :-). You can get the patches via anonymous ftp from che.utexas.edu (128.83.162.5). In addition to the diffs and a few extra files, you'll also need: * the 4.3BSD-Reno ftp source, available from uunet.uu.net in the directory bsd-sources/usr.bin/ftp. * the GNU readline library, which is distributed with bash and gdb, and is available from prep.ai.mit.edu. E-mail me if you don't have ftp access. If there is sufficient interest, I'll post the diffs. -- John W. Eaton jwe@che.utexas.edu Department of Chemical Engineering The University of Texas at Austin
