Utilities for converting ppm images to the VORT format are provided so that gif, etc... format images can be used. The ray-tracer can be found in vort.tar.Z in pub at gondwana.ecr.mu.oz.au (128.250.1.63), where it may be got via anonymous ftp or ACSnet. An example image (sun raster file) that demonstrates the mappings can also be found in pub/images/rubens.ras on the same machine. David Hook.
