Information Modes, P.O. Drawer F, Dention, TX 76202 sells a product called "The $25 Network" for $25 American dollars. I allows file sharing between nodes, no dedicated server is nessary. It runs over the serial ports via a null modem. It does all the things that you would expect a net to do including e-mail. The only limits are no record locking or netbios support. There is an implied limit in the number of machines you can attach, although there is no limit, performance drops with more than 3. I picked this up to allow my roomate to use my HD since his machine has only floppies. I would give you a report on it real use, but he has not brought his machine from home yet.
