Thanks for the response.  We have no DG expertise here and we do not
know the layout of the data in the INFOs files.  Our customer also does
not have the sort/merge utility, so we are borrowing a machine.  We need
to find out if using sort/merge is straightforward - especially when
we do NOT know the data layout...  Can you help us answer this question
by giving me a feel for what sort/merge will require in 1. knowledge of 
data structure,  2. actual steps/syntax.
