Mostly, I call to our universities Sun SPARC running BSD UNIX v4.3 using USR V.32 connections. My questions are: I connect at 9600 with data and error correction on (EC shows green, I assume thats LAPM, and DC shows red, I assume thats V.42). My overall throughput increases as time goes. At 100Kbytes, a few seconds into transfer, output jumps to about 850 bytes/second. Doesnt it go faster? I heard numbers up to 2000 ch/sec. Also, it seems to be having troubles connecting to another service, namely Prodigy. I dont know why? I am trying to have it do the proper negotiation. Also, my Mac programis not able to keep up with the modem in terms of text scrolling. Any suggestions of comm programs would be appreciated. Any replies would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance! ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Shishin Yamada Northwestern University EE class of 91 Evanston, IL -------------------------------------------------------------------------
