It appears that when we use GNU EMACs over the (VISTA) terminal server, with a DEC VT220, connected to a DECSTATION 3100, certain control characters get garbled or misrepresented. First, outside of emacs, the user gives the command: set term = vt200 (vt220 does not seem to work very well at all). Then, upon entering EMACS, everything looks OK, but C-x C-c gets C-x C-@ instead, and C-spacebar gets nothing (it is supposed to set the mark). C-c on its own sets the mark. This is just a new problem, so perhaps there may be other things that aren't working, but we have just discovered these 2 problems today. Does anyone have any suggestions? Emacs appears to work fine, if you are on a VAX, and RLOGIN or SET HOST to the DECSTATION. C-c works fine outside of EMACS.... -Natalie ================== Natalie Prowse Dominion Radio Astrophysical Observatory, nat@drao.nrc.ca National Research Council, (604) 497-5321 Box 248, Penticton, BC, Canada V2A 6K3
