How can I change the name of my primary mail file with rmail? 

Answer:
(setq rmail-file-name "~/mail/RMAIL")  ;  mail goes here

The variable rmail-file-name isn't mentioned anywhere in the
documentation, but C-h v rmail-file-name will provide information.
