If you want to access dBASE / Clipper databases from C (includes building, reading, reindexing, writing, deleting, packing, browsing and so on) you should consider CodeBase 4 from Sequiter Software. It runs under DOS, OS/2 and UNIX (the latter if you buy the UNIX package which contains the DOS support) and supports LANs. For about 500 US$ you get the full UNIX source. Available from most mail order software distributors, e.g. Programmer's Connection.
