Message-ID: Date: 14 Jan 91 21:33:54 GMT Reply-To: heffron@falstaff.css.beckman.com Organization: Scientific Services, Beckman Instruments, Inc. Lines: 30 Nntp-Posting-Host: 134.217.246.5 I'm trying to use the POP3 server from mh-6.7 with the POP3 client from FTP Software. My server machine is an Apollo running SR10.2 with the mh built under the BSD4.3 configuration. It is running sendmail 5.61++/IDA-1.2.8. The client PC's have MX records in the name servers which redirect their mail to this system. The /usr/lib/aliases has entries which try to redirect the appropriate incoming mail to the spop mailer: efaulk@shelties.dp.beckman.com:efaulk@pop mheffron@iago:mheffron@pop however, mail to efaulk@shelties.dp.beckman.com fails with an error about no such host on "pop" and mail to mheffron@iago (ie. mheffron@iago.css.beckman.com) seems to go to the "bit-bucket", it never calls the spop mailer (specified by the popMH.m4 file, included into the Sendmail.mc configuration builder file) (I determined that the mailer was not being called, by replacing it with a shell script which echo'd "got it" to a file.) I'm stumped. Am I doing something (obvious) wrong? Am I assuming is possible that isn't? Any and all help appreciated. Please reply by e-mail, our newsfeed is not yet reliable :-( Thanks, -Matt -- Matt Heffron heffron@falstaff.css.beckman.com Beckman Instruments, Inc. voice: (714) 961-3128 2500 N.
