Message-ID: <22737@ttidca.TTI.COM> Date: 17 Jan 91 17:18:37 GMT Organization: Citicorp/TTI, Santa Monica Lines: 19 Hi, I saw a review of Minx in Byte and intend to get into it. I have some questions first, however. Primarily, how hard is it to duplicate the Minix boot diskette? I want to put Minix on a Compaq Portable (8088) with 360k drives, later, however I'll replace it with an 80386 system and 1.44 MB drive. If I get 5.25" disks now (are they even 360k to begin with?) is it possible to copy to a new boot diskette without going through some kind of kernel build to the diskette. Also, my primary machine is a 386 with OS/2 and Windows 3.0, can I use that to quickly compile kernel/system changes for the Minix machine until I get a 386 for Minix alone. Send replies to me at: terence@ttidca.tti.com Thanks, Terry
