Does anyone know whether the simple A/B switch technique of switching
between two monitors has any ill effect on the well being of the monitors?

Also, has anyone discovered an A/B switch that will work with keyboards,
specifically the PC variety that have the tendency to cause system error
messages when the connections are broken?  (someone thought that a certain
pin might be able to be jumpered in the switch, to keep the culprit pin
'hot' at all times.)
