The two hubs I see advertised are the Farallon StarController and the Nuvotech TurboStar. Any recommendations from users of either (or preferably, both) would be appreciated. Our present network consists of a 6 node passive star, with 18 Macs (varying from upgraded 512's to Mac II series machines), 2 PCs, 3 LaserWriters and 2 AppleTalk ImageWriters. The majority of the network load consists of printing and file sharing via Public Folder. Our near-term additions will include 9 more SE/30's and a GatorBox, so both the printing and file sharing loads will increase. Points of particular concern are: reliability, ease of configuration and maintenance and throughput, in nominally that order. Thanks in advance for your responses. I'll be sure to post a synopsis. tom coradeschi <+> tcora@pica.army.mil <+> tcora@dacth01.bitnet
