The Simple Book by Dr. Marshall T. Rose is by far the best publication on the
topic of SNMP.  It is published by Prentice-Hall, ISBN 0-13-812611-9.  Dr Rose
is well known as an implementor in both Internet and OSI circles and is an
accomplished author.

By the way, if you are in the market for a readable OSI book (which won't
tell you how great it's GOING to be), by all means read his book entitled
The Open Book.
