Type command-I. Select numeber in text field and type new number. Run applicaion. It takes a second or so to quit the application and maybe several seconds to restart. Uh, what exactly do you call a big document? I said I opened a 540k file in Word set with a 512k partition. I don't think it is all that shabby to work with a 680k program, 540k data file, and 400-odd k of dictionary and help files in a 512k partition. I know it sounds awkward to mess with partitions, but it ain't. Would I prefer the greater flexibility of the Amiga? Yes. Would I trade some of the features I have on my setup to get it (rhetoricaly, natch)? Maybe. The only way I'll ever really know is if I can compare my setup with an Amiga setup of someone who does much of the same kinds of tasks that I do.
