I HAVE turned off reselection from both drives (which bugs me, since reselection is a nice performance enhancement) and still can get the SCSI devices to hang at will. (Just get both of them busy at once, with big loads or saves) I have been in direct contact with more than one person at Commodore, but just as they (there have been 2) seem to understand what's going wrong with my system, I lost track of them, and my mail remains unanswered. (Not that I was expecting such personal help in the first place.) I am convinced that a rom or rom/controller upgrade will fix the problem. (I am at ROM version 5.92, WD controller version PROTO) But my dealer has been very unhelpful in getting this thing fixed. (Seattle has only one dealer, and their tech person is rather rude.) It seems that everyone that got the 2500/30 when it was origionally released (mere months before the 3000!) is in the same boat as myself. Please, anyone on the net that hears of the "official" fix to the multiple drive problem, please inform all of us 2091 users. If there is a specific ROM or WD controller version we are looking for, please let us know. It's really annoying having to "tiptoe" around the system trying to avoid simultaneous disk access to prevent data loss! thanks, dylan -- dylan mcnamee "...I put the Mu in Mother Goose, dylan@cs.washington.edu the Doc in Doctor Seuss..."
