Any : help will be greatly appreciated! :) : :Actually, that Miniscribe HD model 8438 is qualified for RLL and its interface :is "ST506/4512". What this means is that it's a 30MB drive when operated RLL. : :To make it function with SCSI on the Amiga simply requires bolting an :Adaptec 4070 "SCSI <=> 2,7RLL" translator to the back of the drive (4 screw :holes), formatting, and you're up and running! For this drive, a better choice is the Scientific MicroSystems OMTI 3527 card. It's in a 3.5 inch form factor... I believe the 8438/8425 drives were 3.5 inch also. The 3527 is an RLL ST-506 to SCSI convertor, and does a much nicer job than the Adaptec does. :-) :Thad Floryan [ thad@cup.portal.com (OR) ..!sun!portal!cup.portal.com!thad ] -- -Bill Seymour billsey@agora.uucp or billsey@agora.rain.com ***** American People/Link Amiga Zone Hardware Specialist NES*BILL ***** Bejed, Inc.
