Message-ID: Date: 16 Jan 91 01:16:03 GMT Sender: @advansoft.com Distribution: comp Organization: Advansoft Research Corp, Santa Clara, CA Lines: 22 In the documentation for uucp for Domain OS 10.2 (BSD), it says that getty must be turned off before dialing out on /dev/tty0?. It says "This can be done with a script." Does anyone have such a script they'd like to share? The only way I can think of to do this is to have uucico be a script that edits /etc/ttys, sends a kill signal to init, invokes the "real" uucico, then undoes what it did. But it would have to run setuid root to send a signal to init, which is a no-no for a shell script. Thanks for any suggestions. chet. -- Chet Wood ~ (408)727-3357 X269 chet@Advansoft.Com .
