Lines: 15 I would like to format my 1581 3.5" disk drive under CP/M. I tried a utility on wsmr-simtel20.army.mil which is in the directory pd2:format81.lbr (another site for you CBM FTP list mongers, by the way). I tried the statement "format81 b:" (my 1581 is device 9), but it complained of a format error and bailed out without so much as flashing the access light. Unfortunately, I cannot read the docs because they use some strange archive format which results in a .*z* extension.
