I'm not going to tear my system open. Perhaps someone else can elaborate? They should have gone in in the same orientation as the old chips. Check the serial number sticker on the back, PC-100 = 100A, unless motherboard changed. I have installed three card and had no problems. Watch pin 1 on chips. What size chip do you have installed in each of the three banks? - --- msged 2.06 * Origin: Bob's_point of Cuckoo's Nest : Hudson, NH (1:132/119.4) ------------------------------ Date: 20 Jan 91 16:11 -0500 From: DAVID HEID To: BOB SMITH Subject: RE: PRODIGY Thanks Bob, for answering me. To bad about not being able to use the Rainbow with Prodigy. I let one of my kids have one of the four Rainbows that I have and I couldn't get the program running on his so I put it on my '386 and it is an interesting product. BTW I used to live in Maine and still have a daughter in Portland. I still have a summer camp near Belfast Maine. How's the weather in NH about now. Have you had the January thaw yet?? Thanks again for the Answer. It's people like you and Frank that keeps me watching the messages on this forum. - --- Opus-CBCS 1.12 * Origin: Glacier Peak Rainbow, Bellevue, WA - 206/644-8431 (1:343/3.0) ------------------------------ Date: 20 Jan 91 20:04 -0500 From: WARNER LOSH To: HOWARD HALL Subject: 3.5" DRIVES FOR RAINBOW In the next few weeks I'll be putting together a Rainbow 3.5" drive "kit" that will allow people to have the same functionality as the I-Drive 3.5" drive that suitable solutions distributed. The main holdup at this point is the lack of a formatting program on the Rainbow. If anyone cares to offer assistance in this matter, I'd love to hear from you. I already have the old FORIBM.COM CP/M program, but have been so far unable to make full use of it. The "kit" will be sourceware. I'll provide the source, binaries, and some documentation. I'm planning on asking for $5 if you like it and use it. I'm planning on placing a copyright on the code similar to either the X windows copyright, or the GNU copyleft. Probably, something closer to the latter since the 'Bow is now basically a public domain, you-support- it-yourself machine. If you have any suggestions about what I should/shouldn't support, please drop me a line. I can be reached on fidonet at 104/114.6 (warner losh) or at imp@Solbourne.COM on the internet. - --- msged 1.99S ZTC * Origin: DinoPoint 6 (1:104/114.6) ------------------------------ End of Rainbow EchoMail Digest ******************************
