You should be able to get information on the timing requirements and data encoding of the IR transmission method used for the HP IR printer by contacting HP's Calculator Support. Their number and address is listed on the inside back cover of the printer's (or any HP calculator) owner's manual. The information can also be found in the October 1987 issue of the Hewlett-Packard Journal.
