We use 'notes' internally at HP on 300s and 800s.  I've been told the
notes we run is a "good news citizen", referring to some apparent
earlier problems with interfaces to news feeds.  I like notes because of
its human interface, but honestly haven't tried news.  I'm sure you
could get lots of help setting up notes from HPites in your area.
