I have been cross-developing software on the HP9000/360 for the
Force CPU-30 using Ada.  I am considering switching from the Ada
development environment to a different tool set using C.  I am
looking for suggestions and comments for creating a development
environment on the HP.  Opinions regarding the following are
especially welcome:

        - HP Softbench
        - GNU tools
        - HP standard tool set
        - Places to get, value of, and need for support of any of 
                the development environments with which you are familiar.
