It attaches to the bottom and provides an IBM-compatible expansion slot. Another possibility would be to look into third party Toshiba add-ons by companies like Megahertz. They might make a fax-modem card for the older Toshibas. Finally, consider using an email service that can send text faxes. CompuServe, MCI Mail, and others offer this service. ...Michael
