Austin, AST, Northgate, an endless list of makers (other than the ridiculously priced mainstream makers: EPSON, COmpaq, etc.) are all announcing products and not shipping. Watch for the March issue of PC Magazine coming out mid-February. It is devoted to laptop review. They have announced receipt of over 200 models from makers, and many of these will be laptop sized. There is a coming explosion of 6 pound 386sx machines. The way things look now, $3000 will be the average price for a machine with around 2 meg memory and 20 meg hard drive (and floppy). VGA screen of course. We can all hope competition brings this number down some. Dave Stotts Univ. of Maryland
