So far here is what I have found: 1) There is C++ for Mac. You need MPW, MPW C, MPW C++ Total cost for all three is in the neighborhood of $400.00 2) There are NO student discounts available. #2 really affects me. :-( $400 is totally out of my reach as a student and even if it was, there is no way to justify the cost. So it looks like I will be using the SPARCstations for what they do best and using my Mac for what it does best.
