I am about to purchase a Macintosh portable.
I have accepted the fact that the portable is very heavy.
I have accepted the fact that the memory will be a little more expensive
  than most, and that the display is not great in low light conditions.
I have accepted that the machine is a 68000 and slow.

QUESTIONS:
1) Is the new portable coming soon? My impression was that we won't
   see it for several more months.

2) What is all the discussion about a "portable upgrade"?

3) Are there any other unknown problems/advantages I need to know about?

4) Is there an internal modem available for the portable?
